Case: Urheilumuseo

Sports Museum of Finland has been a forerunner in adopting new ways to serve their exhibition visitors. At the moment they have 3D printed models of few of their artifacts on display for the visually impaired. Actually, the objects provide value for all visitors since it gives more to examine things by feel rather than just by looking at something.

Versoteq is working on a pilot project with the Sports Museum to digitize more of the exhibition items in 3D.

We've been working hard with museums to build something unique and intriguing. During the fall Versoteq has been co-operating with eight museums on pilot testing 3D scanning and 3D visualisation. Now we're just about to begin collecting feedback on our work. Some of the models we've scanned will be showcased at the museums with tablets or computers, other museums are going to show them at their websites. Some will even be 3D printed.
